After that, every day was the same for Rapunzel. She cleaned her room at the top of the tower. She braided her long, long hair.

Every day, at lunchtime, the witch came to the tower. She would stand under the window and shout: "RAPUNZEL! RAPUNZEL! LET DOWN YOUR BRAID!"
Rapunzel lanzaba su cabello por la ventana. La bruja trepaba por el pelo de Rapunzel como si fuera una soga y entraba por la ventana.
Rapunzel threw her hair out the window. The witch climbed Rapunzel's hair like a rope and entered through the window.
La bruja le enseñó a Rapunzel cómo preparar medicinas con hierbas. Y Rapunzel quería mucho a la bruja. Era su única amiga.
The witch taught Rapunzel how to make medicines with herbs. And Rapunzel loved the witch very much. She was her only friend.
Una noche, Rapunzel estaba leyendo un libro al lado de la ventana cuando oyó a alguien abajo:
“¡RAPUNZEL! ¡RAPUNZEL! ¡DEJA CAER TU TRENZA!”
One night, Rapunzel was reading a book by the window when she heard someone below:
"RAPUNZEL! RAPUNZEL! LET DOWN YOUR BRAID!"
“Qué extraño”, pensó. “La bruja nunca viene tan tarde”.
Lanzó su cabello por la ventana, y la persona trepó, trepó y trepó.
"How strange," she thought. "The witch never comes this late."
She tossed her hair out the window and the person climbed and climbed.
Pero cuando esta persona llegó a lo alto de la torre, Rapunzel vio que no era la bruja. ¡Era un hombre!
But when this person reached the top of the tower, Rapunzel saw that it was not the witch. It was a man!
Rápidamente, Rapunzel tomó su libro y golpeó al hombre en la cabeza. “¡Sal de aquí! ¡Fuera! ¡No eres la bruja!”
El hombre extraño cayó al piso. “¡Auch! ¡Auch! ¡Deja de lastimarme!” rogó.
Quickly, Rapunzel grabbed her book and hit the man in the head.
"Get out of here! Out! You're not the witch!"
The strange man fell to the floor. "Ow! Ow! Stop hurting me!" he pleaded.
“¿Quién eres? ¿Qué quieres? ¿Por qué has subido por mi trenza?” preguntó Rapunzel.
“¡Soy Juan! ¡Mi nombre es Juan!”, lloriqueó. “¡Vine aquí para salvarte!”.
"Who are you? What do you want? Why did you climb my braid?" Rapunzel asked.
"I'm Juan! My name is Juan!" he whimpered. "I came here to save you!"
Como puedes imaginar, Rapunzel no estaba muy impresionada.
“Dime, Juan”, gruñó Rapunzel. “¿Parece que estoy en peligro? ¿Que necesito ayuda?”
As you can imagine, Rapunzel was not very impressed.
"Tell me, Juan," Rapunzel growled, "Does it look like I'm in danger? That I need help?"
Juan suspiró. “Discúlpame. Pensé que ésta era mi oportunidad de ser un héroe”.
“¿A qué te refieres?” preguntó Rapunzel
Juan sighed. "I'm sorry. I thought that this was my chance to be a hero."
"What do you mean?" asked Rapunzel.
“Mi oportunidad de ser un héroe”, dijo Juan. “Todos los hombres necesitan ser héroes al menos una vez en sus vidas. Es la única forma de vivir felices para siempre”.
"My chance to be a hero," said Juan. "All men need to be heroes at least once in their lives. It's the only way to live happily ever after."
Rapunzel dejó su libro.
“No necesito un héroe”, dijo amablemente. “Vete. Sé un héroe en otro lado. Es tarde. Quiero ir a acostarme”.
Rapunzel lanzó su trenza por la ventana.
Rapunzel put down her book.
"I don't need a hero," she said kindly. "Go away. Be a hero elsewhere. It's late. I want to go to bed."
Rapunzel threw her braid out the window.
“Bueno, ¿puedo volver y hablar contigo mañana?”, preguntó Juan. “Pareces simpática. Te traje una soga. Es mejor que usar tu cabello para subir y bajar de la torre”.
"Well, can I come back to talk to you tomorrow?" Juan asked. "You seem nice. I brought you a rope. It's better than using your hair to go up and down the tower."
“Está bien, está bien”, dijo Rapunzel. “Adiós, Juan”. Y Juan salió por la ventana y bajó por la trenza de Rapunzel.
"Fine, fine," said Rapunzel. "Goodbye, Juan." And Juan went out the window and (climbed) down Rapunzel's braid.
